Scout's design is based on a handful of superhero characters i made up way back around 6th grade. the first one i ever created, Faze, was in a crappy superteam comic i tried to do, and then i used she and her daughter Razerback, who was sort of a Proto-Shadoweyes, in the tabletop role-playing gaming that my friends and i used to do starting in middle school. i mentioned on an earlier page that Scout originally was created for a tabletop RPG campaign, she and Razerback were actually in the same storyline, it was all pretty convoluted, haha. anyway, Scout is really important to me because in some sense she's been around since i was 12.
i think all of my old Razerback drawings have been lost over the years. in the really early days she had four arms but i couldn't find any pictures from that era, but i found some other ones:
-this one which i believe is probably from the mid-90s (love that crappy "i just got Photoshop!" motion blur), i think one of her powers was like nanomachines that let her shape her arms into weapons or something like the T1000 in Terminator 2.
-this one which looks crappier than the mid-90s one but i think it's later, maybe 1999 or 2000, when i was still discovering Photoshop coloring. i also found an old fanart piece by artist Ingnan Wei based on that drawing.
-this one which i think is from around 2004.
-and this one which i drew in 2007 for a Greek superhero anthology called Blast (the "e" on her costume stands for e-Unit, the superteam she was part of). here's the Blast site, you can see Razerback at the bottom way in the background (except they colored her orange!). not sure who the artist was for that cover.
-and finally here's the most recent Razerback sketch done for the current tabletop campaign i'm running.
i can't find the first drawing of Scout i ever did, probably was lost on my last computer that died, but she had the same basic design except grey-skinned with yellow eyes, and her black hands and feet ended in a gradient rather than the spots. here's the next earliest drawing i found, here. she's changed quite a bit!
