this is a blunder on Scout's part, trying to claim intersex while trying to get into Kyisha's intersex-safe space of her support/awareness group, she's not seeing the privilege at play there, but it also comes from a genuine place because there is nobody else like her. she has no support system and her whole identity, both personal and social, is in upheaval, and she knows she doesn't fit anywhere or fit with anyone. and since she's on thin ice with Kyisha and she knows things are rocky, she's trying to reach out and mend things but doesn't quite know how.
