i liked drawing these blasted-out wasteland shots. i waffled at first on whether to have the road going from the city out into the wasteland, like why would anyone be going out there so why would there be a road still, but i figured the government sends out convoys of mining vehicles to gather whatever resources they can find out there, or maybe the road is left over from whatever pre-apocalypse time period there was.
